Legal Assistant – Family Law & Real Estate

Location: Winnipeg, MB – In-person

Deadline to Apply: August 22, 2025

Interviews: Week of August 25, 2025

Amica Law is a female-founded, women-led law firm that’s growing quickly. We put people first—our clients and our team—and we believe in building careers, not just filling jobs.

Our work is fast-paced and meaningful. You’ll be part of a supportive group that works together and independently, helping clients through some of life’s biggest challenges. We’re modern and professional without being stuffy, committed to great results for our clients, and equally committed to work-life balance for our team.

We’re looking for a Legal Assistant to support 1–2 lawyers in our family law and real estate practices. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and ready to grow in a positive, collaborative workplace, we’d like to meet you.

Your Role

· Communicate with clients and institutions by phone, email, and in person

· Draft and prepare legal documents for family law and real estate matters

· Work closely with 1–2 lawyers to keep files on track and moving forward

· Use AI tools and other tech-forward software to streamline work and improve efficiency

· Take initiative on next steps as you gain experience

· Assist with day-to-day office needs when required

You Bring

· A positive attitude and willingness to learn

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

· Reliability and punctuality

· At least 2 years of experience in a legal or office environment (legal experience preferred, but we’ll train the right person)

We Offer

· Competitive salary with room for growth

· Vacation and personal days you’re encouraged to take

· Flexible working arrangements (flex time, working from home periodically, etc.)

· Extended health, dental, and insurance benefits after 3 months

· Regular reviews and opportunities for bonuses

· A supportive, female-founded and women-led workplace with a fresh, modern approach

· Professional but friendly environment—high standards without the stuffiness

· Regular firm events and a team that has each other’s backs (plus an open invitation to our book club—participation optional, snacks mandatory)

How to Apply

Send your resume and a cover letter to admin@amicalaw.ca by August 22, 2025.

Your cover letter should be written in your own words (no AI tools here, please) and include:

· How you meet the qualifications listed above

· Why you think you’d be a great fit for this role

· A short, interesting story about yourself that gives us some insight into who you are
